Learning continues in hospital

For many patients attending The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) for treatment, coming to hospital means time away from school.

The RCH Education Institute works in collaboration with young people, families, schools, and education and health professionals to ensure that children and young people in hospital continue to engage in learning and remain connected to their school community throughout their hospital stay.

A team of dedicated teachers, researchers and support staff create vibrant learning experiences for children and young people, implementing an inquiry-based approach to learning with the help of innovative technologies. Our teachers know that learning can happen anywhere and that’s why education sessions are conducted at the beside, in wards, specialist clinics and public spaces of the hospital.

Every year the Education Institute supports more than 1,600 children and young people at the RCH by providing learning opportunities and advice on education and pathways.

Please help us continue to support young learners by making a donation.
